Culture? introducing Lucía Franco...

LUCÌA FRANCO
..On this lovely friday morning I have the great pleasure of introducing Lucìa Franco. Lucìa is one of the most talented people out there, she has wonderful compositions, great colours and a fantastic feel to her work. Lucìa is telling us a little bit about herself and her art today, so I wish you all a very splendid look...
...Here it is, your shot of art with Lucìa Franco:

Can you tell the readers a little bit about yourself, name, what country you live in, age etc?My name is Lucía Franco, I'm 30 years-old, I live in Montevideo, capital city of Uruguay (South America), I was born in Paysandú, a town in the countryside, about 200 miles away from    here, and I moved to the capital twelve years ago, to start my career.

-What inspired you to start being creative?During my childhood, I always knew I liked to do this, and I've always been fascinated about art history since I was a little girl; I wanted to illustrate all those storybooks I used to read.

-Is making art your fulltime job, and if not, what else do you do?I work as a graphic designer in a publishing house, and I do some freelance illustration work too. I would love to dedicate myself to illustration 24/7; nowadays, I do it on my spare time (and you never have plenty of it).

-Have you gone to art school, if yes where did you go and what did you study?I studied graphic design at the university, but I haven't got an official art formation; I've assisted to different workshops here in Montevideo, and at my birth town too, but most of what I know, I learned by myself.

-Where do you find inspiration?I got my moments; I can find inspiration on a given mood, or a certain image that I could find attractive. I'm also moved by the chance to see how far can I go illustrating, without knowing the final result.

-Do you have a favorite artist and if so who and why?Klimt, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O´keffe, Hundertwasser, Miró, Toulouse Lautrec, and local artists such as Rafael BarradasCarlos Federico Sáez, and Joaquin Torres García. Each and every of them change the face of the world with their talent, doing something different every time, and they will endure forever.

-Where can my readers see you`re work? You can visit my website to see some of my work: http://www.luzdeluciernaga.com/
